Worth the hype
I’ve seen La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Balm B5 recommended countless times online, so I finally decided to try it for irritated skin and a damaged skin barrier. It absolutely lives up to the hype for me. The texture is very rich and moisturizing, but it feels extremely soothing on dry, overtreated, or sensitive areas. I’ve used it on my face, hands, and other irritated patches of skin, and it really helps calm everything down.The quality feels excellent, which is what I expect from La Roche-Posay. A little goes a long way, so I think it’s a very good value for the price. I also like that it’s versatile enough for the whole family. I’ve even shared it with my daughter, and we both love having it around for dry or irritated skin. Definitely one of those products I can see myself repurchasing regularly.

Extremely Helpful for Dry, Irritated Skin but Personally Too Heavy for My Face
This is one of those products that I completely understand the hype around because it truly does work very well for dry, irritated, over-processed, or compromised skin areas. The texture is rich, soothing, and very protective without having a strong fragrance, which I appreciate because heavily scented skincare products usually irritate my skin immediately.I have found this especially helpful for dry patches, irritation from weather, over-exfoliation, and areas where the skin barrier simply feels stressed or uncomfortable. A very small amount goes a long way and the tube itself lasted much longer than I expected.That being said, for me personally this product is simply too heavy to use regularly on my face because I am somewhat breakout-prone with richer creams. While it feels incredibly soothing, I personally prefer using it more selectively on very dry or irritated areas rather than as an all-over facial moisturizer.The packaging arrived perfectly sealed with no leaking or damage during shipping and the product looked exactly as expected upon arrival. I’ve been using this product for a few days and I already see a big improvement in my skin. This has been an absolute lifesaver since I started using tretinoin. My skin has been so much more sensitive, and this cream has really helped protect my skin barrier and calm down dryness and irritation. I probably used way too much at first because you do not need much at all to get good coverage. Good stuff
This is a great rescue cream. No fragrance. Non-greasy. Lightweight. Application is easy. Helps with rashes, dryness, and redness, and feels great. The product itself gets 10 stars. The Amazon price, on the other hand, is not the best. I found it at a local store $2 cheaper. And still, for the size the price is high.

My skin is extra dry and I love the feeling that this balm gives me. I noticed that the regular b5 balm seems to have a different formulation compared to the one that is called “soothing therapeutic” and so I have specifically bought this one because I love the texture. I like going to bed with the thick layer on top of all my serums and retinol.
